Poly-Vagal Nerve Theory
Poly-Vagal Nerve Theory
The Vagus Nerve is the longest and most complex of the cranial nerves. It wanders throughout the body, connecting the brainstem to all organs and tissues.
Is the link that is described as the ‘gut-brain-connection’. Because of the Poly-Vagal Nerve Theory, we can demonstrate how life events and emotions affect all areas of your body and therefore your health. All responses and emotions are expressed along and within the branches of this nerve. And so stressful experiences can create symptoms anywhere.
When someone says ‘listen to your gut’, what you are actually saying is ‘listen to your Poly-Vagal Nerve’
Long-Lost & Ancient Herbs
Through many years of searching, I have found fascinating long-lost herbs and herbals, some from as early as the 6-12th Century.
These herbs, often overlooked for centuries, had traditionally been used to treat experiences like grief, loss, anger, heartbreak, terror and fear. Aligning perfectly with both the Poly-Vagal Theory and our own understanding of human health. Collectively, they demonstrate the age-old notion that “what happens in our lives is reflected in our health”.
Therapuetic Narrative
Acknowledgment can be the most important and effective of all therapeutic tools.
I have written for each tea and capsule, an honest effective positive narrative, from my own experience, to be the voice of kindness and caring we all need. Just as an honest talk with a wise friend can fundamentally change our experience and therefore our body’s response, this is the role of the therapeutic narrative, they alone can change our health for the better, by reducing our distress and therefore our inflammation.
